From Niner News NetworkThe Seahawks have acquired guard Quenton Nelson from the Colts for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick, per Niners Nation’s Kyle Posey.
That puts an eight-time Pro Bowl selection on a division rival’s offensive line. Nelson is 30 and on an expiring contract, so Seattle still faces a decision about keeping him beyond this season. But the immediate addition is real. We don’t have to like it to recognize it: Seattle just added a decorated blocker to the middle of its line.
Our 49ers are 6-1, entering the bye after their first loss. There’s no reason to demand a reactionary deal. Still, this is no move to shrug off. For the 49ers, Seattle adding Nelson means a division rival has strengthened its blocking for the race ahead.
